The Big Latch On 2007 - Wellington Region

Nationwide Latch On - Wednesday 8th August 2007

Thank you to everyone who came along to join us in Wellington at Junglerama in Newtown. We had 25 mothers breastfeeding their babies between 10:00-10:01am.

Very sadly my camera died on me at the event so I did not get any photos of my own this year, but very kindly, Crispin Anderlini of Citylife News who was covering the event at Junglerama, has allowed us to share the following photos.
Thank you Crispin and Citylife.

As a total result for the Wellington region (so this includes the other venues in Lower Hutt, Porirua, Tawa and Paraparaumu) we got just over 100 mothers latching on at the same time! Well done everyone!

Nationwide our total was 937 which beat last year's record of 714 - so what a brilliant result! Unfortunately at this stage we cannot confirm the worldwide result because on the day of the latch on, the Philippines, who were coordinating the event, suffered a typhoon. As soon as the results are known, this website will be updated.
