The Big Latch On 2009 - Wellington Region
Nationwide Latch On - Friday 7th August 2009
Thank you to everyone who came along to join us in Wellington at the Southern Cross. We had 71 mothers who came along and of those 64 were breastfeeding their babies between 10:30-10:31am - a fantastic result and nearly double the number we had at the venue last year (hence why it was rather cosy - thanks to all for putting up with the squash - next year we'll have a bigger venue!)
As a total result for the Wellington region we had 205 mothers latching on at the same time (compared to 147 from Wellington region last year - WOW!)

Well done everyone!
Nationwide our total was 1299 which beat last year's record of 1122 - so another fantastic result! Each year we get more and more breastfeeding mums participating which just shows that we are a nation that supports breastfeeding - yay!
A huge thank you too, to the Southern Cross for providing us with their lounge again this year and to all the staff there that worked so hard to provide hungry breastfeeding mothers with drinks and muffins.
